Opossum, Where Art Thou?

It's not everyday that one finds a creature under their bed while retrieving a pen.

I tried coaxing this little cutie out with dry cat food. Of course, my plan did not work. Why would anyone want to leave a place where free food is being tossed at them? This could have gone on all night.

Did you know? ...

Opossums have a remarkably robust immune system, and show partial or total immunity to the venom of rattlesnakes, cottonmouths, and other pit vipers. Opossums are about eight times less likely to carry rabies than wild dogs, and about one in eight hundred opossums are infected with this virus. (wikipedia)

Luckily, I was able to help this guy/gal find its way back to the natural world without much trauma to either of us. How? By patting a broom on the floor, behind the bed. Not being one for much commotion, this creature headed straight for the door.

For those of you who would like to learn more
I <heart> Opossums! ... The next time friends want to gather together and talk about wild things, I'm sure you will be the life of the party.

Please share your best Opossum pick up lines.

How Does Your Garden Grow?

Yo - Do you grow? (urban/rural speak)

This year I have two gardens - a small garden, just a few sq feet (8'x24') and a much larger garden on a farm. I've been keeping a journal (old school - pen and paper). I may try to get some of the writing posted here, but if not, I'll at least post a few photos and a couple of videos.
